The real estate market in Oman is booming during the first half of 2025

The real estate sector in the Sultanate of Oman showed clear signs of recovery during the first half of 2025, benefiting from the decline in prices that encouraged investors to seize opportunities, according to market participants and agents.

According to data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the value of real estate transactions increased by 12.4% year-on-year, reaching about 613 million Omani riyals (1.6 billion dollars) during the six months ending June 30, 2025.

Industry professionals attribute this growth to the increase in the supply of real estate at prices affordable to buyers.

This recovery comes after a 2.5% decline in transaction volume during the first quarter of this year, according to the center's data.

The data also showed that the number of properties sold in the first half of 2025 reached 112,000 units, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2024.

In a statement to AGBI, a real estate investor in Muscat said:
It's very simple, when prices drop, we rush to buy before they rise again.

Meanwhile, the owner of a real estate company pointed out that the decrease in housing costs is due to the growth in construction activity, saying: Sale and rental prices have dropped significantly over the past 15 months, and buyers are succeeding in getting lucrative deals.

Bank-financed home purchases also recorded an increase of 6%, reaching 10,647 deals in the first half of the year, while purchases by GCC nationals rose by 5% to reach 700 units.

For his part, the owner of an active real estate company explained that the market during the past period has been leaning in favor of buyers, adding: Smart investors are taking advantage of opportunities to strengthen their real estate portfolios, but it's too early to say whether this momentum will continue until the end of the year.
